Skatepark opening day set
The long-awaited Carmel Valley Skatepark is now set to have its grand opening on Nov. 11, according to city staff. The skatepark, next to the Northwestern Division police station on El Camino Real, will feature elements like steps, ramps and a large pool.

Carmel Valley peace vigil anniversary
Local citizens will mark the one-year anniversary of their weekly peace vigil by honoring local veterans on Sunday, Sept. 14. The Carmel Valley group has invited members of the San Diego Veterans For Peace and San Diego Iraq Veterans Against The War to stand with them on the corner of Del Mar Heights Road and El Camino Real from 1 to 2 p.m. in support of their efforts to bring the troops home and end the occupation of Iraq.
