Philanthropists, volunteers honored at National Philanthropy Day

Volunteers, philanthropists, corporations and independent business owners were recognized recently for their contributions to the community at National Philanthropy Day.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) San Diego Chapter and Sempra Energy presented the awards during a luncheon held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.
More than 900 supporters – including Mayor Jerry Sanders and Congresswoman Susan Davis – attended the event, which raised more than $136,000 for AFP.
