French music gathering set

A French music get-together is planned from 7 to 9 p.m. March 27 at Panera Bread and Coffee, 12156 Carmel Mountain Road.

Organizer Alliance Francaise de San Diego invites guests to bring their Mp3 players with French music and share it with other French music lovers.

The organization is also offering $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors, university-level or higher students for French language study and study abroad programs, teachers at public or private schools and individuals with a specific project.

Applicants must be older than 16, and all proposals must relate to the French language and culture in some way. Winners will be chosen based on originality and content of their proposal and how the results of the project will directly benefit the local community.
