Celebrate Easter with local egg hunts, church services

Spring has officially sprung and there are plenty of local ways to celebrate the Easter with family and friends. Check out our listing to make yours one egg-cellent holiday.

April 11
- Spring Egg Hunt at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center: 9 to 11 a.m. The hunt is split up into different times for each age group: 0-2, 9:30 a.m.; 3-4, 9:45 a.m.; 5-6, 10 a.m.; 7-8, 10:15 a.m.; and 9 and older, 10:30 a.m.

-St. Therese of Carmel Egg Hunt: Noon. on the Notre Dame Academy fields. The goal is to have 8,000 eggs out for children to hunt. St. Therese is at 4355 Del Mar Trails Road.

- Flower Hill Promenade Mall Easter Egg/Treasure Hunt: 11 a.m. for ages 2 to 6. Children ages 7 to 11 invited to a treasure hunt between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. They get a treasure map and go to participating stores to receive an egg filled with a surprise.

April 12
- Grand Del Mar Easter Celebration: Two egg hunts, Easter bunny appearance, egg races and crafts. The egg hunts will be at 11:30 a.m. and 1: 30 p.m. The Grand Del Mar will also host several meals throughout the day at the resort restaurants: An Easter a la carte brunch will be held at Amaya, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; an elaborate lunch buffet in the Capella, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and an afternoon tea in the library, 2 to 4 p.m..

A special Easter dinner at the Addison will be served from 6 to 10 p.m. For reservations or more information, visit TheGrandDelMar.com or call (858) 314-2000.

- Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club Egg Hunt: 2 p.m. at the golf club. The Easter bunny is also scheduled to appear. Reservations are available for 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. seatings for brunch, call (858) 756-1182.

Church services
- Calvary Lutheran Church: Easter Sunday services at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Calvary is at 424 Via de la Valle in Solana Beach.

- Grace Point Church Easter worship: 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Grace Point is at 13340 Hayford Way in Carmel Valley.

- Horizon Christian Fellowship: 8, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. Horizon is at 6365 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe.

- Nativity Catholic Church: Easter Saturday service at 8 p.m.; Easter Day services at 7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m. and noon. Church is at 6309 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe.

- Solana Beach Presbyterian: Easter worship at 7 a.m., 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The church is at 120 Stevens Ave.

- St. James Catholic Church: Masses held at 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. life mass. St. James is at 625 S. Nardo Ave. in Solana Beach.

- St. Peter’s Episcopal: 7:30 a.m. Easter Day worship with communion, 9 a.m. Easter family and children’s Eucharist, 11 a.m. Easter choral Eucharist, 1:30 p.m., worship with communion. St. Peter’s is at 334 14th St. in Del Mar.

- St. Therese Easter Sunday masses: 7:30, 9 and 11 a.m. Chinese mass at 5:30 p.m. St. Therese is at 4355 Del Mar Trails Road in Carmel Valley.
