Derby Dolls host Military Appreciation Night in DM

The San Diego Derby Dolls will honor the men and women who are serving, and who have served, our country with their first Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, April 18.

The Derby Dolls home team, the Hard Corps, will wear camouflage uniforms when they take on the Prison City Derby Dames of Chino Hills at 7 p.m. at the Wyland Center in the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

The Derby Dolls have donated over 1,000 tickets to military personnel this season and continue to support local soldiers through the USO (United Services Organization) . All military receive a discounted price of $5 at the door with ID.

Starting at 6:00 p.m. fans will find various interactive activities where they can win prizes such as a Sirius satellite, an airplane ride and more.

Visit for additional ticket pricing and information. The show is all-ages and family friendly with kids 7 and under free.

After the battle, be sure to join the Derby Dolls at Pizza Port, 135 Highway 101 in Del Mar, for pizza and fun and meet your favorite Derby Doll in person.

Founded in 2005, the S.D. Derby Dolls are the only all-female roller derby league across the nation to skate competitively on both banked and flat-track surfaces.

Within the league, four teams battle for dominance across the state and nation: The Swarm, The Wildfires, Diego Rollers and Hard Corps. While their uniforms may be stylish and their names playful–do not be fooled by appearances–the S.D. Derby Dolls only skate pure, unscripted, full-contact roller derby.
