Golf tickets pay off for local schools
The Century Club of San Diego succeeded in raising $531,400 for area schools through Support our Schools initiative of the 2009 Buick Invitational golf tournament held at Torrey Pines. Tickets were sold for $15 each and participating schools kept 100 percent of the profits.
Cathedral Catholic High School was the top school in the county, raising $93,165 through the Support our Schools program.
Century Club members will join principals, athletic directors and students of the top schools for an awards ceremony. For information on the program, visit www.centuryclubofsandiego.org or call (619) 281-4653.
