Rancho Santa Fe Board members elected

Doughty, Queen win association seats

The Rancho Santa Fe Association board of directors has two new members, as Dick Doughty and Jack Queen were the top vote getters in the election that ended Monday.

Doughty received the most votes with 540; Queen followed closely behind with 536.

“I’ve worked with them before on different committees and I’m excited about the opportunity to work with them again,” said Pete Smith, association manager.

Incumbent candidate Steve Shillington received 368 votes and 257 members voted for candidate Susan Marr.

Doughty, a 41-year Rancho Santa Fe resident, is no stranger to the association’s bi-monthly meetings and is almost always in the audience.

He is a retired architect and civil engineer, past president of the Art Jury and past member of the San Dieguito Planning Group. He is also a member of the Rancho Santa Fe Library Guild, Garden Club, Historical Society and the road and traffic committee.

Queen, also very active in the community, is the current Art Jury president.

He has 35 years experience with a major brokerage firm and owns a small manufacturing and sales incentive firm. Queen has also served on the road and traffic committee, the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation board and the boards of the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy, the San Gabriel Valley Council, and the San Diego Education Foundation.
