Party kicks off ‘Addicted to Beauty’ premiere

By Ruth Marvin Webster

Del Mar’s new restaurant, Flight, rolled out the red carpet on Aug. 4 for a premiere party of “Addicted to Beauty,” a reality series on the Oxygen network featuring La Jolla-based businesswoman Dianne York and her staff from Changes Plastic Surgery & Spa in Carmel Valley.

Nearly 300 guests gathered to eat, drink and visit with York and the staff as they viewed a satellite feed from New York of the first episode.

The eight-episode, documentary-style series follows the merger between York’s medical spa with Changes Plastic Surgery, run by plastic surgeon Dr. Gilbert Lee.

Lee attended the launch party with his entire family. He said more than 1,000 hours of film was condensed into just eight short hours on television.

Filmed at the medical spa in Carmel Valley, the series also showcases La Jolla – its residents, shops, restaurants, nightlife, museums and beaches.

“Addicted to Beauty” airs at 10 p.m. Tuesdays on the Oxygen Network, Channel 201 for Time Warner viewers, or online at
