Organization brings joy through music

Resounding Joy, a therapeutic music organization, held a Junior Joy Givers camp last week to teach children the art of healing through music. The two-day camp concluded with a trip to entertain residents at Emeritus Senior Living facility in Carmel Valley. This summer’s Junior Joy Givers included Stella Roth, Nicholas Hinderling, Jordan Spinks, Grace Lee, Abigail Mulmat and Naomi Smitham.

The children brought smiles and laughter to the seniors, engaging them in games with egg shakers and singing together to songs like “You Are My Sunshine.” Junior Joy Giver program coordinator Rebecca Vaudreuil played the guitar while campers also played the Q-chord, an instrument many just learned how to play the day before.
