Tropical Trackside Party raises funds for local youths

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito’s Tropical Trackside Party surpassed its fundraising goal for the organization last Saturday. More than 300 people attended, the largest crowd for special event club history. This was the first event of its kind for the club.

The party, held inside the track’s private Cabana Tent, raised over $50,000 for the 25,000 youth the clubs serve throughout north coastal San Diego County.

“We are thrilled with the outcome of the event,” said club president and CEO Keith Padgett. “The idea, which was well received, was a twist on our popular Tropical Nights Gala of years past. I believe we have added another winner to our list of special events. Thank you to our committee, staff, partners, guests and volunteers who helped make this event a success!”

At the end of the evening, visitors could enjoy an infield concert by the Grammy Award-winning band Steel Pulse or a special prefix dinner at Pacific Coast Grill.
