The North Shore Girls Softball League’s 12 Gold All Stars concluded their record-setting season their first to the ASA Western National Championships in Portland, finishing ninth in a field of 58 teams.

Teams were from Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico and Montana.

The North Shore girls had to battle 107 degree temperatures during the hottest week in recorded Portland history, a 6-3 record for the tournament.

Along the way North Shore Gold beat the Northern California champ, Belmont, 4-3: Central California runner-up Orcutt Renegades, 6-1, and four Oregon teams by the collective score of 39-6.
