Del Mar foundation raises money for school district

The Del Mar Education Foundation hosted a donor event at the Hilton Garden Inn in Torrey Hills on Sept. 1. The foundation seeks to provide funding for district’s extended studies curriculum, which includes science, technology, physical education, music and art. This year the foundation’s fundraising efforts are districtwide, not for individual school sites as in the past. Last year, in the face of ESC cuts, the foundation was able to raise about
$1.4 million to save programs.
