‘Art of Fashion’ patrons – a picture of summer finery

The heat of the day dictated the breezy styles worn to the 54th annual “Art of Fashion” luncheon hosted by The Country Friends’ last Thursday afternoon under tents in the gardens of the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.

After lunch, the runway show featuring fall designs from Orange County’s South Coast Plaza stores, gave way to a wine afterglow and luxury boutique shopping.

More than 250 patrons gathered
for the event to raise money for Voices for Children of San Diego (www.speakupnow.org). The agency funds court-appointed advocates who are the voices for children in foster care. Founded in 1954, The Country Friends supports human care agencies, and has raised and distributed some $12 million to various groups since its inception.

The 2009 event was chaired by Lisa Alvarez, supported by a committee of 34 volunteers.
