Rancho Santa Fe resident honored as ‘Good Scout of the Year’

Bob Bolingbroke, of Rancho Santa Fe, has been nominated as the “Good Scout of the Year” for the San Diego-Imperial Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Bolingbroke volunteered in scouting for many years, first in the Mount Diablo Council in Northern California and now in San Diego County for more than 15 years.

“All this work and effort for young men was performed by a man with genuine love of the scouting program and the clarity of foresight that could see what a difference scouting makes in the life of a boy as he grows to manhood,” said Phil Mathis, chairman of the Pacific Council.

Bolingbroke received this award at the Fairbanks Country Club on Nov 21. A fund has been set up in his honor, which will allow young scouts to attend summer camp, or to pursue further educational goals.
