Sockers remain unbeaten after Dynamite blowout

The San Diego Sockers seem to be only getting stronger as the season progresses after an impressive 15-5 victory over visiting Denver Dynamite at the Del Mar Arena on Saturday night. The Sockers maintained their lead with hat tricks from the league’s goal-scoring leader Kraig Chiles and fellow Socker Aaron Susi.

“Denver came out strong to start the game but we were able to keep our composure,” Chiles said. “Once we got the momentum on our side we were able to better manage the game.”

The three goals scored by Chiles mark his third straight hat trick of the young season.

The Sockers hope to remain undefeated as they travel to play Revolucion Tijuana on Friday in Tijuana. Revolucion (2-1-2) has only scored 23 goals in their five games so far this season as compared with the Sockers who have scored 30 in their last two games.

  • Emotions tugged, tested in new Globe comedy about loss, Be a Good Little Widow
Bekah Brunstetter’s “Be a Good Little Widow” at The Old Globe is an interesting juxtaposition of happy and sad, reality and romanticism. The dialogue sometimes comes off as stilted, and I often felt that Melody’s character seemed very immature. However, the cast as a whole is terrific, and Hal Brooks’ direction centers the story well between the bookends of […]
