Heights glows in winter delight

Christmas. Hanukkah. Kwanzaa. Del Mar Heights hit all the highlights of the holiday season with its annual Winterfest celebration last week. Students, some wearing handmade reindeer hats, performed two shows of their holiday extravaganza, one during the day and one at night on Dec. 10.

In what has become a Heights tradition, the first-graders sang teacher Andy Smith’s song “Winter in the West.”

The children sang: “Winter in the West, it is the best. No snow, who cares. We’ve got sun and the sand and the surf to share.”
