Casino night to fund tower

The Friends of the Powerhouse and the City of Del Mar Lifeguards will host a Casino Night Party for the Tower, beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Powerhouse Community Center. Proceeds from the event will go toward construction of the new Lifeguard Headquarters at 17th Street. More than $250,000 has already been raised for the project.

Nancy Dietrich will chair the event. She said guests will see casino-style games including a spin-to-win wheel, black jack, craps, roulette and others. Dinner by Jake’s Del Mar will be served at food stations, and there will be dancing to the tunes of Java.

A complimentary drink will be served to toast the evening, followed by a no-host bar. A 50/50 raffle and live auction will take place after dinner and include items such as local town and beach packages and travel offerings. Complimentary parking for the event will be available at the King Lot across the street from the center.

Tickets are $50 each and a limited number are available by contacting Friends of the Powerhouse at (858) 755-1641.
