Investigators believe Solana Beach melee was gang related

An investigation was under way Sunday into an apparent-gang related melee that left two people seriously hurt with stab wounds and another pair with minor injuries, authorities said.

Deputies were called to a house in the 800 block of Vera Street around 6:50 p.m. Sunday where they found the first two victims, said San Diego County sheriff’s Sgt. Brian McCauley.

Both had serious but not life-threatening wounds, according to the sergeant. Paramedics took both victims to a local hospital, where one went into surgery, he said.

While deputies were investigating the circumstances surrounding the attacks, two other victims showed up at the house, with lesser stab injuries, McCauley said, adding they were taken by ambulance to another hospital.
