Nova Wind Quintet entertains at First Thursdays event

Captivating rhythms, unexpected harmonies and virtuosic individual performances characterized each of the 23 short pieces performed by the Nova Wind Quintet at First Thursdays (March 4) at the Del Mar Powerhouse. A musical “Evening of Bohemian Dances and Delights” was presented by Beth Ross-Buckley (flute), Susan Barrett (oboe), Frank Renk (clarinet), Ryan Simmons (bassoon) and Mike McCoy (French horn). “We could have danced all night!” one guest remarked.
