Government offices closed for Cesar Chavez Day
State, county and city offices are closed today in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.
State offices such as the Department of Motor Vehicles are closed, as is the court system. County of San Diego administrative offices and libraries also are shut down, but county parks will be open.
The holiday honors the late Cesar E. Chavez, the co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association.
