SD track, field plans slated

The schedule for the San Diego summer Track and Field Series, a USA Track & Field San Diego event, was recently released. The meets are open to all ages and abilities, and participants can compete in any or all events.

The meets start on June 2 at Cathedral Catholic High School and continue on June 23 at San Diego Mesa College, ending with a championship meet on July 21 at Lincoln High School.

The events featured at each meet are hurdles (100 or 400 meters), mid-distance (800 meters to a mile), sprint (100 to 200 meters), distance (3,000 to 5,000 meters) and long sprint (400 meters). Field events are in shot put, long jump and high jump.

The cost is $10 and includes unlimited events within each meet. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the events begin at 6 p.m.
