Fire breaks out in Carlsbad industrial building

A two-alarm fire damaged an industrial building in central Carlsbad on Sunday, but no one was hurt, a Northcomm Fire dispatcher said.

The blaze broke out around 4:15 p.m. at 2245 Camino Vida Roble, and air traffic controllers at McClellan-Palomar Airport reported thick black smoke rising into the sky, the dispatcher said.

It took about a half-hour to extinguish the flames, she said.

The cause and damage amount were not immediately available.
