Roberts promoted to Life Scout

Solana Beach resident Robert Roberts, age 14, was promoted to Life Scout, the second highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Robert is a member of Boy Scout Troop 782 and the son of Solana Beach Councilman Dave Roberts and Walter Oliver. BSA turns 100 years old in 2010 and a special Life Rank award was presented just for this year.

Solana Circle to close for show

Solana Circle Drive, between Via de la Valle and Nardo Avenue, will be closed to all vehicular traffic for a safe and orderly viewing of the fireworks display at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. All of Solana Circle Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic at 8 p.m. on July 4, 2010, and will re-open at approximately 10 p.m.

OCD group meets Mondays

San Diego’s only Obsessive Compulsive Anonymous group meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays in the Harbor Room at the Department of Health Services Complex, 3851 Rosecrans St. in San Diego. For more information, e-mail OCAsandiego@
