Entries sought for Miss Cougar Del Mar contest

Entries are sought for the second annual Miss Cougar Del Mar contest. Those interested in competing must submit (by July 23) a photo with a one-sentence explanation of why they should be crowned Miss Cougar Del Mar 2010.

Determined by on-site tweets and text, the winner of Miss Cougar Del Mar 2010 will be announced during the races on July 30 and invited to present the trophy for the Cougar II Handicap. Each potential Miss Cougar will receive the “Day at Del Mar” package for the Cougar II Handicap, including clubhouse admission and table for four, a paddock tour and VIP passes for the evening’s Common Sense concert.

Rosie Goldstein, Miss Cougar Del Mar 2009, will attend to sing her rendition of Bing Crosby’s “Where the Turf Meets the Surf” before the sixth race and hand off her crown to this year’s winner.

Submissions can be viewed at www.delmarscene.com, where online voting will take place beginning July 14.
