Solana Beach: Del Sol Lions Club Charter president Dave Roberts honored

The Del Sol Lions Club recommended Charter President Dave Roberts to receive a Melvin Jones Fellow Award from Lions Clubs International (LCI) Foundation. LCI Foundation recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing on them an award that is named for its founder, Melvin Jones. This Fellowship Award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism.

The recipient of this award becomes a model because of the exemplary service to his club and the community for which it serves. The award was presented to Roberts at a special recognition ceremony held at the Encinitas Senior Center based upon his service as the first president of the new Del Sol Lions Club. Club members in attendance at the districtwide ceremony included Maria McEneany, Mary Jane Boyd, Rena Monge and Robin Kemp.
