It is very cynical--not to mention unlawful--of a superintendent to use paid staff time, which should be spent on helping students learn, to perpetuate a broken system of teacher compensation that is totally uncorrelated to the quality of a child's classroom experience.

Thank you, Ms. Sutton, for shining the light on this. This community needs to ask an important question: How can a superintendent who lacks such basic moral judgment be qualified to set a clear ethical example for the students of this district?

Kudos to both Marsha Sutton and Michael Robertson for continuing to shine a bright light on this troubling issue. It takes guts to do what Michael Robertson is doing, and as a parent of a DMUSD student, I am extremely grateful and applaud his efforts.

Of course we value our teachers, but the way the union tries to dupe us into supporting their ever-increasing financial demands (in a declining economy, no less), under the guise of providing better education for our kids, is really getting to be downright disgusting.

Michael and Marsha, thanks for fighting the good fight to get the real story out there. This has got to come to an end.
