Solana Beach: Polster Scholarship Dinner held for 21 recipients

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito Foundation recently announced that The Leonard & Edith Polster Scholarships for 2011/2012 have been awarded to 21 young people from North County. $25,000 in scholarship funds were presented on May 19 at the Del Mar Hilton at a dinner hosted by Leonard Polster, who is also the donor of these scholarships. Receiving scholarships from Sunset High School were Samuel Baez, Tyler Biddick, Omar Carranza, Natalie Castillo, Daysy Ortega, Andres Robles, Jacqueline Serrano, and Christine Tibbetts; from El Camino Cristian Manuel and Wayne Weers; from Oceanside High were Michael Basham and Estefania Dieguez; from La Costa Canyon Enrique Aquino, Elizabeth Eusebio, CJ Gonzalez, Christian Hidalgo, Roberto Lorenzo, Gina Prete, Alberto Quiroz, and Victoria Rodriquez; and Sarah Little from San Dieguito Academy.

The Boys & Girls Clubs Foundation is also giving $14,000 in scholarships to students who plan to enter the healthcare field. These funds are received from a matching grant from the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito Foundation and Scripps Hospital Foundation.
