The Solana Beach Civic and Historical Society recently conducted a Living History Program at the Solana Beach Heritage Museum for Solana Vista School third-grade students. The program contains information on the 11,000 years of Indian settlements, the construction of Lake Hodges and the impact that running water had in the transformation from sleepy Lockwood Mesa to today’s thriving Solana Beach. To depict life before running water, the children are assigned over 40 hands-on chores they would have performed had they grown up in 1900.
