Del Mar celebrates July 4 with festive parade

Del Mar and neighboring residents celebrated July 4 with an Independence Day Parade July 4 at Powerhouse Park. The Del Mar Foundation invited families to decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, baby strollers and leashed pets to participate in this annual tradition.

Shawn Rohlf, “An Americana Singer-Songwriter,” provided live music for the marchers plus a brief concert after the parade. Del Mar’s elected officials awarded ribbons to some of the best parade entrants in various age categories and the Del Mar Fire Department had one of its trucks on display and passed out junior fire hats for the children.
