Apartment complex damaged by fire

A fire of unknown origin damaged an apartment complex near the Del Mar Racetrack the afternoon of Aug. 9.

Flames began spreading through the three-story building in the 2801 Camino del Mar shortly before 3 p.m., a dispatcher said.

It took crews about 25 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which caused no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
