District is sending kids that should go to Carmel Valley Middle School all the way up to Oak Crest in Encinitas. Our kids need to go to our local schools with all their friends - not 20 minutes up the freeway. Isn't that why we pay all the property taxes and high home prices to live here. 5 years is WAY too long. We want our new middle school NOW. In today's age, it is unsafe to allow the public to walk onto a school campus from 2 busy streets. Also, the campus houses moderate/severe special ed kids who could wander off campus onto the busy Loma Santa Fe street. I hope in all those "upgrades" is a fence surrounding Earl Warren.
