Carmel Valley’s Royal Dance Academy opens new studio

Carmel Valley’s Royal Dance Academy is ready to open its new 5,300 sq. ft. dance studio and embark on another journey serving the local area with dance and acting classes.

RDA has just completed its 10th successful year in Carmel Valley and demand has driven RDA to open bigger space in the same Piazza Carmel shopping center.

The new studios, next to Hallmark and Avis Car Rental, are a “state of the art” facility that has all four studios under one roof.

Two grueling months of construction are almost over as the high tech new studios take shape and prepare for opening next week. The four professionally-equipped studios are complete with professional, sprung floors, wall to ceiling mirrors on all walls, professional music systems, CCTV cameras to view classes from the lobby area, viewing areas in all studios and full-time office staff to deal with all the needs of parents and students.

Owner Francine Garton built her business over a 10-year period and then transitioned her thriving business into larger, newer premises.

Garton explained that the new schedule of classes is more comprehensive and offers classes to cater for all levels of dancer. Ballet exams are available for those serious about ballet, as are competition team auditions. But there are also many classes available for the recreational dancer, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre.

Garton said she is also very proud of her team of teachers, “They are seriously talented and committed to teach. They love their work because they love dance and love teaching.”

RDA offers a variety of teachers who cater for the different levels, ages and personality of the students.
