The Friends of Del Mar Parks wrapped up the Del Mar Shores Cinema Series on Sept. 24 with a showing of the Sony Pictures blockbuster “Soul Surfer,” the inspiring true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton’s remarkable comeback following a shark attack in which she lost an arm. The marquee also included “The Krill is Gone,” a children’s short on ocean conservation featuring the voiceover actors from “Spongebob Squarepants.” Bull Taco and Bearclaw Coffee served food and refreshments.
