AARP TAX AIDE PROGRAM
FREE TAX  PREPARATION AND FILING SERVICE FOR SENIORS 60 YEARS AND OLDER,  LOW INCOME TAXPAYERS
Every Friday starting Feb. 10 – April 13, noon – 2 p.m. by appointment only.
AARP volunteers will provide free tax filing services for seniors and low income tax payers under $60,000 income per year.  AARP Tax Aide Program will help residents in the area file their taxes or have their tax related questions answered free of charge. The program will be every Friday starting February 10 – April 13 from  12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Appointments are required by calling Jennie at  (858) 509-2587.   Please bring in your picture identification (I.D.), copy of your 2010 Tax Return and 2011 Tax Documents at the appointed time.
Every Tuesday @ 4 p.m.
AFTERNOON STORY TIME
Mr. Ted will entertain with stories, songs, and music.
Every Wednesday @  1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
YOGA CLASS FOR SENIORS
This is a program for seniors only that is held in the Community Room of the Carmel Valley Branch Library.  Instructors are from Silver Age Yoga.  Every class utilizes chairs but please bring your own exercise mat if desired.  No reservations required.

Every Thursday @ 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS OF TOMORROW (SET)

INFANT /TODDLER STORY TIME  (Infants – Toddlers)

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME (3 – 5 years old)
Story time lasts for about 30 minutes and it includes stories, songs, music, fingerplays and a coloring page.

Every Saturday @ 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
TUTORING FOR K-6TH GRADERS  —  High school students will provide Homework Help to K-6th graders  in the Young Adult Area.  No registration required.

March 2 @ 10 a.m.  – 10:30 a.m. AND 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
READ ACROSS AMERICA:  CELEBRATING THE BIRTHDAY OF DR. SEUSS

LEGO BUILDER CLUB
This is a program for ages 6-12 and will be held in Community Room of  the
Carmel Valley Branch Library.  No registration required and limit of 40 participants.  Legos contain small objects and parent’s supervision is recommended.

ARTS & CRAFTS FOR 3RD-8TH GRADERS
Art lessons and the program by Torrey Pines Art Student is designed for 3rd – 8th graders but anyone is welcome to walk-in anytime.
Library Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; and CLOSED Sunday and Monday. Our book drop will be open at all times.
March 20 @ 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.
MANAGING AD/HD
Whether you are a parent of a child who struggles with AD/HD, or you work with children who exhibit signs, we encourage you to take this Opportunity to meet with an experienced and credentialed Life Coach who specializes in AD/HD. The first half of the Seminar will cover subjects such as how to: communicate with your child effectively, avoid power struggles, resolve conflict productively and help your child develop better social skills; and  School issues: work initiation, time management, planning and procrastination. The second half will be designated for questions and open discussion.

FAMILY FUN TIME:  LITERATURE COMES TO LIFE
Literature Comes to Life Presents:  Goldilocks & The Three Bears, Author/Illustrator,
James Marshall.  Another book, “Dog Breath, Author/Illustrator, Dav Pilkey also comes to life.  Children from the audience will wear beautiful costumes and portray Storybook Characters!
March 28 @  7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
TEEN BOOK CLUB
New members welcome and should register at the discussion.  For children in grades, 6, 7 and 8.  The group will discuss “The Ear, The Eye, and the Arm” by  Nancy Farmer
Friends of Carmel Valley Bargain Book Sale – Coming in March!
March 31, 2012 @ 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Friends of the Carmel Valley Library will be holding a bargain book sale fundraiser to benefit the library. Proceeds will go to buy new materials for the library and to pay for children’s programs, art and music programs. The book sale will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. in the Community Room of the Library. It will feature bargain books (cookbooks, children’s books, mysteries, fiction, etc., etc.)  priced to sell at only 4 for $1!
