I was in the TPHS marching band from 1974-1977. There we so few people driving down Del Mar Heights (then Black mtn) road that we would march up and down in front of the school practicing. The idea of the development was not too positive from anybody except those who would profit it from it, but looking west from TPHS it was obvious that our school was meant for more than buses up that (formerly) steep hill that went up to TPHS. Later (also on the TPHS cross country team) a group of ran the 10K down old carmel valley road that was the protest run ...called the "North City West Runaround". Now we all live here and love it..
