Boys basketball:

Torrey Pines extended its winning streak to four games and got some help along the way that helped the Falcons grab a share of first place.

The Falcons defeated Rancho Bernardo 52-35 Westview 68-61 in Palomar League games on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1.

Canyon Crest Academy’s 57-50 upset victory over previously unbeaten Mt. Carmel helped the Falcons move into a tie for first place.

Sam Worman scored 24 points to lead the Falcons in the Rancho Bernardo game and Brandon Cyrus added 17 points.

Worman, Cyrus and Dominic Hovasse each scored 17 points to lead the Falcons in the CCA game.

Jack Bailey added 10 points.

The Falcons improved to 5-1 in league and 15-8 overall for the season.

The Dons extended its winning streak to 13 games as the Dons defeated University City 63-43 on Feb. 1.

Xavier Williams and Niksha Federico each scored 14 points to lead the Dons and Parker Holland added seven points.

Federico also had six rebounds and four steals and Williams contributed five rebounds.

The Dons improved to 8-0 in league and 20-3 overall for the season.

Santa Fe Christian had its six-game winning streak snapped as the Eagles lost to Army-Navy 64-53 in a Coastal League game on Jan. 29.

The loss followed a 62-43 victory over La Jolla Country Day three days earlier.

Grant Corsi scored 26 points to lead the Eagles in the LJDC game and Cole Needham and Jack Langborg each added nine points.

The Eagles fell to 4-2 in league and 16-6 overall for the season.

Canyon Crest Academy snapped a three-game losing streak with a 57-50 upset victory over a Mt. Carmel in a Palomar League game on Jan. 30.

The Ravens followed the victory with a decisive 60-48 victory over Rancho Bernardo two days later.

James Chenevey scored 15 points to lead the Ravens and Aaron Schrock and Riley Adams each added 12 points.

The Ravens improved to 3-3 in league and 13-11 overall for the season.

San Diego Jewish Academy experienced a 52-48 loss to Escondido Charter in a Pacific League game on Jan. 30.

The loss followed a 48-44league win against Maranatha Christian 48-44 the previous day.

Ilan Graubart scored 19 points to lead the Lions in the Escondido Charter game and Judah Rosenzweig added 13 points.

Adam Sloane scored 20 points and Graubart added 13 points to lead the Lions against Maranatha Christian.

The Lions fell to 2-7 in league and 5-9 overall for the season.

Girls basketball:

Cathedral Catholic defeated University City 62-34 in a Western League game on Feb. 1.

Juliet Jones scored 22 points and had 10 assists to lead the Dons, and Wendy Anae added 11 points.

The Dons improved to 7-1 in league and 12-8 overall for the season.

The loss followed a 63-58 league win against Rancho Bernardo two days earlier.

Madison Lombard scored 22 points to lead the Falcons in the Westview game and Jasmine Gutierrez added 12 points.

Lombard poured in 30 points and Gutierrez added 20 points in the Rancho Bernardo game.

The Falcons fell to 2-4 in league and 9-14 overall for the season.

Girls soccer:

Cathedral Catholic extended its winning streak to four games as the Dons trounced Our Lady of the Peace 5-0 in a Western League game on Jan. 30.

The victory was the Dons 10th in 11 games and moved them to within a half game of first place.

Mikaela Kraus scored two goals to lead the Dons and Brittany Doan, Sunny Dunphy and Natalie Teles each added one goal. Courtney Brown contributed two assists.

Dons goalie Hanna Macaulay was credited with the shutout.

The Dons improved to 4-1 in league and 17-3-3 overall for the season. La Jolla leads the league with a 4-0-1 mark.

Torrey Pines moved to within a half game of first place in the Palomar League as the Falcons extended their winning streak to four games with a 1-0 league victory over Westview on Feb. 1.

The victory followed a 1-0 league win against Rancho Bernardo two days earlier.

Bailey Sayin scored the only goal in the Westview game and Abigail Palkowitz scored the only goal in the Rancho Bernardo game.

The Falcons improved to 4-2 in league and 8-7-1 overall for the season. Poway is in first place with a 3-1-1league record.

Boys soccer:

Santa Fe Christian defeated Escondido Charter 2-1 in a Coastal League game on Feb. 1.

Mark McKinney scored two goals to lead the Eagles.
