Boys basketball:

Cathedral Catholic continued its dominance of Eastern League play as the Dons defeated Mission Bay 72-52 on Feb. 8.

The victory followed a 72-32 trouncing of Scripps Ranch three days earlier.

Brandon Michel and Xavier Williams each scored 15 points to lead the Dons in the Mission Bay game.

Niksha Federico contributed 13 points and Xavier Williams added 10 points.

Parker Holland led the Dons with eight rebounds and also contributed seven points and three steals.

Williams led the Dons with 19 points in the Scripps Ranch game and Federico added 18.

The Dons improved to 10-0 in league and 22-3 overall for the season.

Two days after experiencing a tough 55-50 loss to Mt. Carmel on Feb. 6 that knocked Torrey Pines out of a first-place tie, the Falcons bounced back with a 57-51 Palomar League win against Poway that kept their title aspirations alive.

Brandon Cyrus scored 13 points to lead the Falcons in the Mt. Carmel game and Sam Worman added 11 points. Zack Warner contributed 10 points.

Torrey Pines and Mt. Carmel went into the game tied for first with identical 5-1 league records.

The loss snapped a four-game Falcons winning streak.

Worman led the Falcons in the Poway game with 19 points.

Cyrus contributed 15 points and Jack Beach added 10 points.

The Falcons improved to 6-2 in league and 16-9 overall for the season.

Santa Fe Christian lost to Francis Parker 57-46 in a Coastal League game on Feb. 8. The loss followed a 67-58 win against Bishop’s three days earlier.

Grant Corsi scored 27 points to lead the Eagles in the Parker game and Brian Finley added 12 points.

Corsi scored 28 points to lead the Eagles in the Bishop’s game and Finley added 15.

The Eagles fell to 5-3 in league and 17-7 overall for the season.

Canyon Crest Academy lost to Westview 50-46 in a Palomar League game on Feb. 8.

The loss followed a 63-51 victory over Poway two days earlier.

Jeremy Dawson scored 12 points to lead the Ravens in the Westview game.

Riley Adams scored 20 points to lead the Ravens in the Poway game.

James Chenevey contributed 19 points and Dawson added 15 points.

The Ravens fell to 4-4 in league and 14-12 overall for the season.

San Diego Jewish Academy experienced a 71-57 loss to Bishop’s in a Pacific League game on Feb. 7.

The loss followed a 66-41 defeat at the hands of Rock Academy in a league game two days earlier.

Ilan Graubart scored 23 points to lead the Lions in the Bishop’s game.

Judah Rosenzweig contributed 17 points and Adam Sloane added 14 points.

Graubart led the Lions with 20 points in the Rock Academy game and Rosenzweig added 14.

The Lions fell to 2-8 in league and 6-11 overall for the season.

Girls basketball:

Cathedral Catholic lost to Mission Bay 76-68 in a Western League game on Feb. 8

The loss followed a 56-25 trouncing of Scripps Ranch in a league game three days earlier.

Wendy Anae scored 16 points and had 19 rebounds to lead the Dons in the Mission Bay game.

Timoney Moyer also scored 16 points for the Dons.

Anae scored 15 points and Sarah Mosser added 10 points to lead the Dons in the Scripps Ranch game.

The Dons fell to 8-2 in league and 13-9 overall for the season.

Torrey Pines lost to Poway 62-57 in a Palomar League game on Feb. 8.

Freshman standout Seirra Campisano scored 17 points to lead the Falcons and Madison Lombard contributed 16 points. Christian Ellis and Hannah Dobson added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Falcons fell to 2-6 in league and 9-16 overall for the season.

Girls soccer:

Cathedral Catholic extended its winning streak to six games as the Dons defeated Scripps Ranch 3-2 in a Western League game on Feb. 8.

The victory followed a 2-0 league win against La Jolla two days earlier.

Jessica Clegg, Courtney Brown and Tamara Gomez each scored one goal to lead the Dons in the Scripps Ranch game.

Goalie Hanna Macaulay had five saves.

Sunny Dunphy and Laura Shea each scored one goal and had one assist for the Dons in the La Jolla game.

Macaulay, who was credited with the shutout, had eight saves.

The Dons improved to 5-1 in league and 19-3-3 overall for the season.

The loss followed a 2-1 league win against Mt. Carmel two days earlier.

Anissa Dadkhah scored the Falcons only goal in the Poway game.

Courtney Coate and Natalie Saddic each scored one goal to lead the Falcons in the Mt. Carmel game.

The Falcons fell to 5-3 in league and 9-8-1 overall for the season.

Boys soccer:

Torrey Pines defeated Poway 3-1 in a Palomar League game on Feb. 8.

Austin Nicholson, Sam Horton and Jeremy Dinkin each scored one goal to lead the Falcons.

Falcons goalie Patrick Davis had four saves.

The Falcons improved to 3-4-1 in league and 7-11-3 overall for the season.
