Football:

San Diego Jewish Academy defeated Julian 27-0 in a nonleague game on Oct. 3.

Tomer Baltnister rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown and freshman quarterback Jordan Battaglia threw for two touchdowns to lead the Lions.

San Diego Jewish Academy took an 3-0 lead in the first quarter on Rami Liberman’s 37-yard field goal and the Lions never looked back.

Battaglia completed three of six pass attempts for 43 yards with no interceptions. He completed scoring passes to Jake Posnock and Adam Sloane.

Jordan Friedman had nine tackles and four sacks and Posnock had 12 tackles to lead the Lions defensively.

The Lions improved their overall record for the season to 2-0.

Cathedral Catholic defeated Morse 42-13 in a nonleague game on Oct. 4.

The Dons improved their overall record for the season to 4-1.

Santa Fe Christian lost to Bishop Diego of Santa Barbara 34-3 in a nonleague game on Oct. 5.

The Eagles’ only score came on Jake Bailey’s 50-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles fell to 3-3 overall for the season.

Water polo:

Cathedral Catholic defeated La Jolla 15-6 in a Western League game on Oct. 3.

Marko Vukojevic and Jordan Colina each scored four goals to lead the Dons and Cody Smith added three goals.

Dons goalie Joe Cleary had seven saves.

Santa Fe Christian lost to El Camino 14-13 in an Avocado League East game on Oct. 3.

Bennett Royce scored nine goals to lead the Eagles and Garrett Kolonay added two goals. Brennan Epps contributed two assists.

Eagles goalie Jack Atkinson had six saves.

The loss followed a 16-14 victory over San Marcos in a nonleague game  on Oct. 3.

Royce scored nine goals to lead the Eagles and Jeremy Herrick added two goals and two assists. Cullen McGee contributed three goals.

Atkinson had 12 saves

The Eagles fell to 0-1 in league and 9-10 overall for the season.

Canyon Crest Academy defeated University City 10-7 in a nonleague game on Oct. 3.

Yu scored four goals to lead the Ravens and Eric Arnett added three goals.

The Ravens improved to 1-1 in league and 6-3 overall for the season.

Torrey Pines defeated Mt. Carmel 13-4 in a Palomar League game on Oct. 1.

Layne Moore scored four goals to lead the Falcons.

Volleyball:

Santa Fe Christian defeated Cathedral Catholic 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-21) in a nonleague game on Oct. 2.

Lexi Sun had 28 kills to lead the Eagles and Hannah Mathiesen added 18 kills. Eagles setter Mia Kelter had 44 assists.

The Eagles improved their overall record for the season to 4-7.

Cathedral Catholic defeated La Jolla 3-0 in a nonleague game on Oct. 4.

Lauren Woodard had 16 kills to lead the Dons and Ivey Schmidt added nine kills.

The Dons improved their overall record for the season to 5-7.

San Diego Jewish Academy defeated New Community Jewish of West Hills (Los Angeles County) 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-14) in a nonleague game on Oct. 1.

Sara Chitlik had 12 kills to lead the Lions.

SDJA improved to 5-1 overall for the season.

Field hockey:

Canyon Crest Academy defeated Cathedral Catholic 2-0 in a nonleague game on Oct. 3.

Haley Schroeder and Katie Carlson each scored one goal to lead the Ravens.

Ravens goalie Julia Elihu, who was credited with the shutout, had six saves.

Dons goalie Abi Grosse had three saves.

The Ravens improved their overall record for the season to 12-1.

Cathedral Catholic lost to Serra 5-1 in a nonleague game on Oct. 1

Kira Williamson scored the Dons’ only goal. Grosse had six saves.

The Dons fell to 9-8 overall for the season.

Torrey Pines lost to Rancho Buena Vista 2-1 in a nonleague game on Oct. 2.

Sammy Cirino and Farah Farjood each scored one goal to lead the Falcons and Alie Zimmer contributed one assist.

Falcons goalie Katie Gitre made one save and did not allow a goal in 40 minutes.

The Falcons fell to 9-4 overall for the season.

Golf:

Torrey Pines defeated Poway 191-221 in a Palomar League match on Oct. 3

Co-medalists Muni He and Sung Eun Park each shot an even-par-36 to lead the Falcons on a nine-hole course at StoneRidge Country Club.

The victory followed a 186-249 win against Westview on Oct. 1.

Sarah Cho shot a two-under-par 34 to lead the Falcons on a nine-hole course at Morgan Run.

Canyon Crest Academy defeated Westview 236-259 in a Palomar League match on Oct. 3.

Medalist Yubin Huh shot a two-over-par 39 to lead the Ravens on a nine-hole course at Carmel Mountain Ranch.
