Author Alan Mindell to speak at Solana Beach Library event

Local author Alan Mindell will be at the Solana Beach Library Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m., to share his writing experience. His first novel, “The Closer: A Baseball Love Story,” was published this year. Mindell is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley, where he played three years of varsity baseball (center field). Reader reviews of the novel include: “If you love baseball and a good love story this is a winning combination. I heartily recommend it!”; and, “Hopefully, The Closer is the ‘opener’ of the writing career of Alan Mindell.” Copies of the book will be available for purchase that evening. The Solana Beach Library is located at 157 Stevens Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075; (858) 755-1404.
