U12 Gold All-Star team crowned Champions of Mesa tournament

DMCV Sharks Girls U12 All-Star team, coached by Richard Milner, Paul Ang and Michael Bandell, played in the Mesa tournament recently and were crowned Champions of their division. Playing in only their second tournament, the team gelled really well together and in the early rounds, out of five games they won four and tied one, scoring 8 goals for and none against, to qualify for the final. In the final, they played the powerhouse team of Vista.  Sharks grabbed an early goal but then Vista equalized just before half-time. After the break, the girls fought a tough end-to-end battle, and then with only two minutes remaining on the clock, Renza Milner scored from a direct free-kick taken from near the corner flag, the ball flying high into the roof of the net. The final score was 2-1 to the Sharks. This win was only possible because everyone on the team gave 100 percent effort and played the best soccer of their lives. Many congratulations to Sharks Girls U12 Gold team!
