Week in sports for Carmel Valley, Solana Beach and Del Mar

Boys basketball:

Torrey Pines clinched at least a share of the Palomar League championship with a 64-44 victory over Poway on Feb. 14.

The Falcons win was their sixth straight and their ninth in their last 10 games.

Brandon Cyrus scored 20 points to lead the Falcons and Connor Milmoe added 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

The victory followed a 72-55 win against Mt. Carmel three days earlier in which Sam Worman scored 22 points to lead the Falcons and Dominic Hovasse added 14 points.

Jack Beach and Milmoe each contributed 11 points.

The Falcons improved to 8-0 in league and 23-4 overall for the season.

Cathedral Catholic defeated La Jolla 56-43 in a Western League game on Feb. 13.

The win followed a 43-35 league victory against Scripps Ranch two days earlier.

The Dons improved to 7-3 in league and 15-8 overall for the season.

San Diego Jewish Academy defeated Maranatha Christian 64-48 in a Pacific League game on Feb. 12.

Adam Sloane scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds and Judah Rosenzweig  scored 18 points and had 15 boards and six steals to lead the Lions.

Aaron Perez added 15 points.

The victory followed a 50-26 league win against Rock Academy two days earlier in which Rosenzweig led the Lions with 14 points.

The Lions improved to 7-3 in league and 16-5 overall for the season.

Santa Fe Christian lost to Horizon Christian 47-37 in a Coastal League game on Feb. 12.

Stephen Philo scored 12 points to lead the Eagles and Brian Finley added 11 points.

The Eagles fell to 2-5 in league and 14-10 overall for the season.

Girls basketball:

Torrey Pines continued its domination of Palomar League play as the Falcons clinched at least a share of the league championship with a 60-45 victory over Poway on Feb. 14.

The win followed a 43-41 league win against Mt. Carmel three days earlier.

Sierra Campisano led the Falcons in the Poway game with 23 points, 19 rebounds, seven steals and 10 blocks.

Madison Lombard added 18 points.

Campisano scored 22 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the Falcons in the Mt. Carmel game and Christina Ellis added 11 points and nine rebounds.

The Falcons improved to 8-0 in league and 20-5 overall for the season.

Cathedral Catholic moved closer to a perfect Western League season as Dons defeated La Jolla 56-43 on Feb. 13.

Kendall Fisher scored 19 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Dons and Mia Gallo added 16 points.

Juliet Jones added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The victory followed a 62-17 thrashing of Scripps Ranch in a league game on Feb. 11 in which Gallo led the Dons with 16 points and Jones added 15 points.

The Dons improved to 10-0 in league and 19-6 overall for the season.

Canyon Crest Academy broke through for its first win in the tough Palomar League, and they did it against a formidable opponent.

The Ravens 45-39 league win on Feb. 14 came against a Westview team that had a winning record in league going into the game. The Wolverines fell to 4-4 in league.

The Ravens improved to 1-6 in league and 11-13 overall for the season.

Girls soccer:

Torrey Pines secured at least a share of the Palomar League title with a 3-2 victory over Poway on Feb. 13.

Anissa Dadkhah, Catarina Macario and Camelia Tirandazi each scored one goal to lead the Falcons.

The victory followed a 5-1 victory over Mt. Carmel on Feb. 11 in which Gianna Montini led the Falcons with two goals and one assist.

Eva Buechler contributed one goal and one assist and Courtney Coate and Macario each added one goal.

The Falcons improved to 7-0-1 in league and 19-1-1 overall for the season.

Cathedral Catholic extended its unbeaten streak to 14 games as the Dons played Patrick Henry to a 1-1 tie in a nonleague game on Feb. 13.

The Dons defeated Point Loma 7-1 in a nonleague game three days earlier.

Audrey Hegardt scored the Dons only goal in the Patrick Henry game off an assist from Brittany Doan.

Olivia Erlbeck scored two goals and Dana Dalton scored one goal and had two assists to lead the Dons in the Point Loma game.

Doan, Sunny Dunphy and Alyssa Fiddes each contributed one goal and one assist and Paige Haley added one goal.

Shelby Cormier and Niamh Nelson each had one assist.

The Dons improved to 6-0 in league and 18-2-3 overall for the season.

Boys soccer:

Torrey Pines lost to Poway 4-1 in a Palomar League game on Feb. 13.

Asher Booth scored the only goal for Torrey Pines.

The loss followed a 2-1 league win against Mount Carmel on Feb. 11.

Eli Bessudo and Jack Dempsey each scored one goal to lead the Falcons and John Roussos and Jake Heilbrunn each contributed one assist.

Falcons goalie Patrick Koeneke had two saves.

The Falcons improved to 3-4-1 in league and 10-7-5 overall for the season.
