Carmel Valley Rec Center hosts Spring Egg Hunt

Despite the rain, hundreds of eager egg hunters turned up for the Spring Egg Hunt, held April 11 at Carmel Valley Recreation Center. The hunt, which began at 9:30 a.m., was divided into five age groups: 0 to 2; 3 and 4; 5 and 6; 7 and 8; and 9 and older.

Mainly Mozart’s major donors gather for intimate concert

Pianist Reiko Uchida and violinist Jessica Lee performed at the Mainly Mozart Club Amadeus patron donors event, which was held April 5 at the La Jolla home of Victor Fargo.

Uchida is the first-prize winner of the Joanna Hodges Piano Competition, and Lee is the first-prize winner of the 2005 Concert Artists Guild International Competition.

Hollywood-themed gala supports Boys & Girls Clubs

The Classic Hollywood Gala, which benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito, was held at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Surfside Race Place on March 21.

The Tinsel Town-themed event boasted silent and live auctions, food, special guests and live entertainment featuring Rat Pack Revue from Las Vegas and dancing to the B!G Daddy Orchestra.

Last month, the American Ireland Fund hosted its 26th annual gala and auction – themed “Toast of the Town” – at the Manchester Grand Hyatt downtown.

The evening included a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by dinner, a live auction and entertainment.

North Coast Rep holds tropical-themed gala

North Coast Repertory Theatre held its fundraising event, “Shipwrecked! A Gala,” at Birch Aquarium on March 8. Many guests dressed in island chic attire for the “tropical” evening, which included silent and live auctions, dinner and dancing.

Dos Aguilas benefits museum’s research, education

More than 400 friends of the San Diego Natural History Museum gathered at the museum on March 6 for the seventh Dos Aguilas Binational Fiesta.

Inside and out, the museum was transformed into a Mexican fiesta. Epicurean tasting stations offered food from Romesco Baja Med Bistro, El Rey Sol, El Vitral Restaurant and Tequila Lounge, Cowboy Star and others. A mariachi band and the Opera de Tijuana performed.

Maroon 5 concert raises more than $600,000 for Rady Children’s Hospital
