Derby homes released Pardee Homes' Derby Hill, located just north of Carmel Valley, homes are now released for sale and are among the final homes selling in Carmel Country Highlands.

Builder starts on nine homes Brookfield Homes, based in Del Mar, is constructing nine new luxury homes within The Estates at StoneBridge, just east of Scripps Ranch. Five of the homes are in the framing stage at the company's "Serenity" development.
Battiata leases Del Mar office The Battiata Real Estate Group Inc. recently released 2,782-square-feet of office space at 445 Marine View Ave., Suite 390, in Del Mar, CB Richard Ellis announced.
Battiata is expanding into downtown San Diego's condo market and the luxury real estate market. The group moved from their office in Carlsbad. The group officially launched on May 1.

Fitch: 'BBB-' track rating The Del Mar Race Track Authority's outstanding $41.9 million series 2005 revenue bonds rating was affirmed by Fitch Ratings as "BBB-," a negative outlook, according to Business Wire.
The bonds are secured by a combined pledge of operating revenues from the Del Mar racetrack, which includes track revenues, some of the food and beverage concession revenues and net satellite wagering revenues.
"... by October it should be clear if the falloff experienced in the later part of 2008 has continued or abated," Business Wire wrote. "The authority is also planning operating expense reductions for 2009, which should help in partially offsetting further revenue declines."
Real estate company forms Joseph Sampson, president and CEO of Joseph Sampson & Associates and the new JSA Real Estate Inc., recently announced the launch of a new company in Carmel Valley.

JSA agent goes green JSA Real Estate's Diane Fix recently received the National Association of Realtors' Green Designation, according to CEO Joseph Sampson.
Fix completed a lengthy course of work designed specifically for Realtors, which is the only designation recognized by NAR. The courses are designed to a give participants a comprehensive knowledge of green homes and buildings, and issues related to sustainability in real estate.
Clothing drive through July Throughout July, Time Warner Cable will host its ninth annual Clothes 4 A Cause drive. The company will collect ready-to-wear business outfits to benefit individuals enrolled in job training programs with the Alpha Project.

Jake's gives to Food Bank Jake's Del Mar recently announced that its Three-Course Tasting Menu raised $4,000 for the San Diego Food Bank. The restaurant donated $1 for every Tasting Menu meal it served since March of this year.
Each dollar raised through their efforts provides three meals for people in need. Jake's will continue raising funds for the Food Bank every time a patron orders the Chef's Special entree, created by chef Dustin Anselm. The specials will feature seasonal fresh seafood. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Food Bank.

New medical office planned A new medical office building is planned for the 4S Ranch area northeast Carmel Valley and west of Rancho Bernardo, the Daily Transcript reported Thursday.
The Class A office development, known as 4S Ranch Medical Plaza, will cost $15 million and be 40,000 square feet. It will be located at the northwestern corner of Camino Del Norte and Dove Canyon Road.
