Earl Warren Spring Arts Festival to be held June 6 in Solana Beach

Earl Warren Middle School will host its Spring Arts Festival on Thursday, June 6, from 6-8 p.m. in Warren Hall.

Del Mar Art Center Season II Show Opens

The Del Mar Art Center features all local artists working in many different mediums, including painting, photography, mixed media, glass, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and upcycled sculpture. The show runs through July 28.

Friends of Jung to hold artist talk on May 17 in Del Mar

The event will feature Stephanie Bedwell, an artist with more than 25 years of experience. In 2012 she received the Teaching Excellence Award from Grossmont College where she teaches Three-Dimensional Design.

Del Mar art lecture to be held on ‘Olmec: Mexico’s Ancient Civilization’

An art lecture on “Olmec: Mexico’s Ancient Civilization” will be presented on Monday, April 15, by Janet Brody Esser, Ph.D. and Professor Emeritus of Latin American Art History at San Diego State University. Having studied and lived in Peru and Mexico, she will be sharing her knowledge about the history of this vibrant country and the artifacts and art left behind by this civilization.

Erik Skoldberg Gallery opens at the Del Mar Plaza

Erik Skoldberg, a contemporary artist and resident of San Diego, has opened his first gallery at the Del Mar Plaza. Erik Skoldberg Gallery showcases Skoldberg’s original fine art in a 2,000-square-foot space on the Plaza’s third level.

Expert to speak on ‘The Art of Appraisal’ in Del Mar

Natashe Bonilla Martinez, an appraiser at Thompson and Martinez, will use her background to answer questions about the appraisal of art. The lecture meeting will be held on Monday, March 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, Del Mar, 15th & Maiden Lane (across from the Del Mar Plaza).

Del Mar Art Center hosts March 10 reception

Journey with the Del Mar Art Center in discovering the new collection of art by all 36 members of the Center. Travel on Bruce Stewarts’ “Luminous Waves,” enjoy “A Day at the Beach” by Libbie McMahon. Then Mark Shermans’ amazingly detailed watercolors will whisk you away via “Torry Pines Three Times” to the exotic landscapes of wood carver Malsu Paparisto where you will find “Peace.”
