San Diego Mustangs rugby teams off to winning start in championship quest

The San Diego Mustangs Under 16 and Under 19 rugby teams each began their Southern California Championship quest, with quarter-final playoff matches held on Saturday at Little-Q field, home pitch for the OMBAC Rugby Club.

CCA boys’ volleyball team ties for 3rd in Vahalla Tournament

The Canyon Crest Academy Boys Volleyball Team finished tied for 3rd in the Gold Division at the Valhalla Tournament losing to eventual champions Grossmont High School. This result comes on top of winning the consolation division in the Scripps Ranch Tournament.

San Diego Football Academy (SDFA) GU14 wins 2012 Nomads’ College Showcase Silver Division

The SDFA GU14 soccer team won the Nomads’ College Showcase Soccer Tournament held March 31 – April 2. The championship game played at UCSD ended with SDFA prevailing over Nado 1-0 in double overtime. SDFA was undefeated in the five matches it played in the tournament and allowed no goals.

RSF Attack soccer registration open

Registration is now open for those wishing to sign up for fall recreational soccer through the Rancho Santa Fe Attack Recreational program at www.rsfsoccer.com. The program is designed for children ages 4 to 18 and emphasizes fun while learning the game of soccer and the meaning of sportsmanship.

Buy your tickets now for charity basketball game featuring Harlem Ambassadors

The Harlem Ambassadors will take on the Rotary Ravens at a charity basketball game at Canyon Crest Academy. Game Day is May 5 at 7 p.m. on the Canyon Crest Academy campus in Carmel Valley, sponsored by the Del Mar-Solana Beach Sunrise Rotary Club.

The Solana Beach Soccer Club has begun its registration for the upcoming fall season of 2012. The club is holding online registration at www.solanabeachsoccerclub.com now through June 15.

Powerhouse 10U Baseball team tops at March Madness Baseball Tournament

The Powerhouse 10U Baseball team won the March Madness Baseball Tournament recently in San Clemente. Jake Pearlman pitched a no-hit shut out in the championship game to beat the Temecula Irish 7-0.

Two Snuffy/Fastbreak teams play at UCSD

Two Snuffy/Fastbreak basketball teams from the Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito played in an exhibition game on Feb. 11 at UCSD Rimac Arena during half-time of the school’s Men’s game.

Manchester Soccer Club GU15 ends successful season

The Manchester SC GU15 team completed another successful season in 2011 Presidio Soccer League action with a record of 11 wins, 2 ties, and 1 loss with 37 goals scored and only 6 goals conceded, finishing second in the AA-A South division.

North Shore’s 8U team undefeated in Fall Ball

Softball became even more exciting for a group of 7- and 8-year-olds who made up the 8U Fall Ball team of the North Shore Girls Softball League, when their team recently finished the season undefeated.
