Del Mar Powerhouse 10U Champions

2014 10U Spring Open Champs

The Del Mar Powerhouse 10U team played two pool play games and two elimination games to go undefeated in the Triple Crown Sports San Diego Open and win the Division 1 Championship. The boys showed great determination and fight to come away victorious in elimination play and battle for the win with a one-run margin of victory for both semi-final and championship games.

‘Black Vipers’: Winter Basketball League – 5th/6th Grade Champions


The “Black Vipers” recently won the 5/6 grade basketball championship in the Master Sports Open League in Carmel Valley. They defeated the “Magical Bricks” in the basketball league finals on March 10. The “Black Vipers” ended up winning the championship game, 69-53, with an explosive high-scoring offense, great ball movement, and aggressive play on both ends of the court. This game capped a memorable season for a team that finished with a perfect 11-0 record for Head Coach Ben Reed. Congratulations to the “Black Vipers.”

Sharks BU12 Gold are NCSP Youth Competitive League Champions


The Sharks beat Poway Vaqueros BU11 by 7-1 in the last game of the 2013-14 season at North County Soccer Park to win the Arena Soccer championship in the BU11-12 bracket.

Rancho San Dieguito Swim Team wins San Diego Junior Olympics Championship

“Our swimmers did a phenomenal job and trained long hours to prepare for the event,” said Joe Benjamin, head coach and director of the Pardee Aquatics Center at the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito. “We were the most spirited and cohesive team at the meet, and as always, our team values shined through. Many team records were broken, many of our swimmers made it to finals, and everyone brought their best efforts and best attitudes. It is clear that we are sure to see a lot more success to come from the RSD Swim Team.”

Del Mar Powerhouse 10U Boys win Xtreme Diamond Presidents Day Tournament


The 10U Powerhouse boys have won the Xtreme Diamond Sports Presidents Day Tournament in Sweetwater. The team went undefeated in six games, outscoring their opponents by a 66-13 margin. Great pitching, defense, hitting, and solid teamwork empowered the team to bring home championship rings. 11U AAU Pres Day Warmup

The Del Mar Powerhouse 11U team was crowned champs recently in the AAU President’s Day Warmup Tournament in San Clemente. Fundamentals proved to be the key to success for the Powerhouse boys as they battled through adversity during pool play to come back in elimination brackets and bring home the Championship.

Albion SC BU10 White Team Champions of Albion Developmental Showcase Tournament

Coached by Wayne Crowe, the Albion BU10 White team went undefeated the entire tournament playing in the top flight. Albion defeated Rebels SC Gold (6-1), Hawks Academy (4-1), and West Coast FC (3-0) in their bracket play. In the finals, Albion BU10 White team defeated SD Surf BU10 Academy I team with a score of 3-0.

Fresh from their success being crowned Champions of the Mesa All Star tournament in mid-December, last weekend the DMCV Sharks Girls U12 All-Star team played in the New Year Kick Off tournament in Escondido. From a total of eight teams, Sharks ended up by winning the Championship. In the early rounds they defeated strong teams from the Oceanside Breakers (3-1) and Carlsbad Wave (2-1) and tied with Encinitas Express (0-0) to qualify for the Final.

Sharks Boys U13 White Team takes Arsenal FC Winter Classic Soccer Title


The DMCV Sharks Boys U13 White team took the trophy at the recent Arsenal FC Winter Classic soccer tournament in the top bracket. The Sharks were directed by Coach Roy Ashcroft. The boys had an exciting semi-final that went to penalty kicks and exacted revenge in the final, beating the Roadrunners FC 1 – 0, to avenge their only loss in the tournament. This is the fifth straight tournament win this season. They also won the Escondido Kickin’ it Challenge for breast cancer in Escondido, the Copa Del Mar Tournament, the Rancho Santa Fe Attack Summer Classic Tournament, and the Xolos Winter Festival.

Winning season for Carmel Valley Manchester Soccer Club BU15


The Carmel Valley Manchester Soccer Club BU15 team just wrapped up its 2013 Presidio League season, placing second in its division.
