Last Saturday, La Jolla Symphony & Chorus celebrated the start of the 2008-2009 season with a gala benefit at The Westgate Hotel. The event, called "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," began with a silent auction and a cocktail reception followed by dinner and dancing to the swing-era sounds of Big Band Express. The benefit supported the artistic mission and educational programs for the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus.
