The La Jolla Bailliage of La Cha'ne des Rôtisseurs, with members from La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe, held its own prom night at the Marine Room recently.
Dr. Bailli Dominick Addario, who has headed up this chapter for 12 years, and award-winning Executive Chef Bernard Guillas wowed 70 members and guests with great food and wine, dancing and corsages.
La Cha'ne des Rôtisseurs, the International Society of Gastronomes, was created by King Louis IX in 1248 as a French royal guild of goose roasters. La Cha'ne is devoted to promoting fine dining and preserving the camaraderie and pleasures of the table. Today, the society has members in more than 70 countries with the U.S. and its 150 chapters being the largest.
Members are by invitation only, and five new members will be inducted at the Grand Del Mar in September.
