Kirkos will create his annual Meditation Labyrinth on Jan. 1 in Encinitas.
Internationally known environmental artist Kirkos will once again treat area beachgoers to his annual Meditation Labyrinth, which he draws on the sand of an Encinitas beach. This interactive event will take hours to complete and begins at 10 a.m. Jan. 1.
Guests and participants are requested to park in the Moonlight Beach lot and walk north about 1 1/2 miles to the labyrinth. The public may bring gifts for the labyrinth. Items must be biodegradable such as flowers, colored stones and coarse salt. Do not bring anything that will need to be picked up at the end of the event.
Kirkos, of Encinitas, is a longtime member of the San Dieguito Art Guild and Off Track Gallery. He is dedicating his 2010 labyrinth to the guild in appreciation of its support of his art.
