Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito celebrates National Bike Month with a giveaway

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito received 60 new bicycles through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference Day of Service. Employees from local businesses, including Sony Electronics, Inc., and traveling clubs worked collaboratively to build 200 bicycles for Boys & Girls Clubs in the San Diego Region.

On May 9, children and teens from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito’s seven clubhouses in Del Mar, Solana Beach, Carmel Valley, and Encinitas arrived at the Harper Clubhouse in Solana Beach and were surprised to find their names on brand new bikes. The club hopes these bicycles will help Club Kids develop a love of fun, fitness and healthy habits.

“Sony is very proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. We have served as a national partner for six years now. Our president and employees are very proud to have participated in the National Day of Service and have the opportunity to give back to our local community,” said Julie Wenzel, senior manager of Community Relations for Sony Electronics, Inc. and past board member of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito.
