Carmel Valley resident Scott Kaplan is co-host of the popular "Scott and BR Show" heard weekday mornings on XX Sports Radio 1090 am. Kaplan and his wife Gayle, along with the first of their now four children, moved to San Diego in 2001 from New York. In addition to the radio show, Kaplan is a partner in a company called Make Believe Marketing, which has interests in a wide variety of businesses from horse racing to baby bedding. When not working or training, Kaplan coaches youth sports.

Per capita, Carmel Valley has the hottest soccer moms in America.
Who or what inspires you?
Fear of failure.
If you could snap your fingers and have it done, what might you add, subtract or improve in Carmel Valley?
I would add a Houston's. We need restaurants in this town!

What is your most prized possession?
It's so obvious, I have to say my wife and kids, but really, it's my wife and kids. I have one son and three daughters. My house is a nightmare, but through all the screaming and the drama, nothing is more important in my world.
What do you do for fun?
Lie on the couch, watch football with my whole family, eat everything in sight, and then complain about how fat I am.
